Liquid Alep soap recipes

kara

You can make your own liquid Alep soap by using the flaked soap (buy it here). Depending on the ingredients that you want to add into it, you can use the liquid Alep soap as a shower soap, handsoap or shampoo (Alep soap is also excellent for washing your hair).

Add your choice of additional ingredients (essential oils, flowers, herbs, spices) at the end of the process. Since this recipe is an artisanal process, the texture of the soap can vary during the use. To homogenize it, shake it regularly or add water if needed. The variations in color or consistency doesn't change the quality of the soap.

LIQUID ALEP SOAP RECIPE:

For about 450-500 ml of liquid soap (about 2 pump-bottles)

In a measuring cup, add 150ml of flaked soap. Put the flaked soap in a glass jar. Add about 300-350ml of natural spring water. Cover the jar with cellophan or a plate and leave the mixture (flaked soap + water) for about 24 hours to rest.

Then stir it slowly with a wooden stick until you get the consistancy you want. Add more water if you want it more liquid. I usually add 30 drops of lavender essential oil to the mixture before pouring it into bottle containers.

With a box of 250 gr of Flaked Alep Soap, you can fill up 5 to 7 bottles of 250 ml, depending on how much water you add to the flaked soap.
